Frequently Asked Questions

Can we see the DJ 'perform' before we decide to book Musique?

Most of the parties that we provide DJ's and Discos for are private parties such as weddings and birthdays. We don't like to ask our clients if other prospective clients can visit their party to check us out. After all, would you like strangers turning up at your birthday party? Occassionally, it is possible, please ask and we will see what we can do.

Can we meet the DJ before booking.

Just give us a call and we can arrange a meeting.

Can we provide a list of music for the DJ to play at our party?

Yes. We have a comprehensive database of music from over five decades, with music styles ranging from fifties rock and roll through to the latest chart smashes of today and tomorrow.

You can choose the music played at your party or you can leave it up to us, or a mixture of the two. We love to receive your music playlists and we play suitable requests at your party as quickly as possible.

Once you’ve submitted a playlist to us, we’ll check that all the songs are in our library. If some of the songs that you have selected are not in our library, we will endeavour to add them to our library. In addition to the old fashioned way of owning CD’s, we also source music from iTunes and other (legal) online music suppliers.

If we can’t find some of the songs that you want played at your function, we will let you know, so that you can arrange to bring your own CD’s on the day.

The best advice is to ask each of your guests to suggest a couple of tracks that they would like to hear at the party. This can be done via the invite/RSVP. Pass the list (with the names of the guests who requested the tracks) onto us as soon as possible so that we can make sure that suitable tracks are available on the night.

Does the price you quote include flashing lights?

Yes. We have a good selection of modern disco lights, including intelligent lighting effects, which are designed to work together to give a synchronised display. The price you are quoted will include enough lighting to cater for the number of guests that you specify on the booking form. We also provide haze and bubble effects where they are appropriate and permitted by the venue.

When do we have to pay for the disco?

At the time of booking you will have to pay a reservation fee of £50. You can pay for this online via paypal (with a credit/debit card or through your own paypal account if you have one), or you can send us a cheque when you return the printed booking form which we will send you to sign. The balance (the price we quote you less the reservation fee) is due at least 10 days before the party if you are paying the balance by cheque, or you can pay us in cash on the night, but you must pay this when we arrive at the venue.

What would happen if the DJ's vehicle breaks down on the way to my party?

We have full breakdown cover provided by the AA. If they can't fix the problem by the roadside, they have to take us (and our vehicle) on to our destination, which is your venue. We leave for the venue with plenty of time to spare for unforseen situations. Once you have booked Musique, you can be sure that we will be at your party no matter what.

Will you send us details of the booking?

We will send you a booking confirmation letter which details the service you are paying for. You will have a copy for yourself and there will be a copy for you to sign and return to us with your reservation fee.

The venue has asked if the disco has PLI and PAT, what is it and do you have it?

PAT stands for ‘portable appliance test’. Anybody that uses electrical equipment in a public place has a duty to ensure that there is no risk to the public. The tests determine whether the equipment is safe to use. PAT testing is carried out by a competent electrical engineer. He will issue a list of the equipment tested, apply labels to the equipment and issue a certificate which states that he has PAT tested the equipment.

PAT testing is not a legal requirement at the moment, but we take the safety of you and your guests seriously. Additionally, more and more venue operators are requesting that any entertainer that uses the venue, has a PAT certificate.

We have every item of our disco equipment PAT tested at least once a year and it is kept squeaky clean. As part of our health and safety policy, each and every item of equipment is visually checked before each function. All this ensures that the disco ‘rig’ looks as good when it’s off as it does when it’s ‘performing’ and that it is as reliable as a swiss cuckoo clock.

PLI stands for ‘personal liability insurance’. This is to protect you as much as it is to protect us. It’s sensible protection in the event of an unlikely disaster. Musique mobile discotheques are fully insured with £2 million personal liability insurance.
